Description
The Rigaku KT-100S Handheld LIBS Analyzer is a next-generation portable elemental analysis device engineered for high-speed alloy verification, positive material identification, and industrial metal inspection. Combining precision X-ray fluorescence technology with a lightweight ergonomic design, the KT-100S delivers laboratory-level analytical performance directly in the field.
Rigaku KT-100S Handheld LIBS Analyzer provides on-the-spot identification of the most difficult alloys, including aluminum grades, with lower detection limits and the ability to analyze more alloys than traditional handheld identification methods. This includes upgraded precision for low alloy steels, stainless steels, as well as high temperature alloys and the added detection of lithium (Li). In addition, the KT-100S analyzer offers unique auto surface preparation with its Drill-Down™ feature and is considerably smaller and lighter than other handheld LIBS analyzers currently available.
BLADE™ Laser Ablation Architecture and Alloy Matrix Identification
- BLADE™ (Breakthrough Laser Ablation & Detection Engine) for plasma generation and light collection.
- On-axis plasma detection architecture within a compact handheld footprint.
- QuickID™ software for alloy grade identification.
- Selectable alloy matrices including aluminum, stainless steel, nickel, cobalt, copper, titanium, and low alloy steels.
Handheld Mechanical Design and Integrated Controls
The instrument incorporates an integrated color display with tilt functionality, trigger-based activation, and onboard navigation controls. A sealed safety window protects internal optical components during contact measurement on metal parts. Power is supplied by a rechargeable Li-ion battery system, and a docking station supports charging and storage. USB and power ports enable data transfer and external power connection.
Industrial Metal Alloy Verification Applications
- Scrap metal alloy sorting and classification.
- Positive material identification (PMI) of installed metal components.
- Alloy verification in fabrication and machining operations.
